During our examination of Apple’s $1,599 Studio Display, one thing stood out: the built-in camera is terrible. Previously, Apple promised us an update to enhance the camera, and now it looks to have arrived. An upgrade to the Studio Display firmware now comes with today’s beta release of mac OS Monterey 12.4, according to Apple representative Jennie Orphanopoulos. The Studio Display camera settings has been refined in this beta release, including better noise removal, contrast, and framing.
The 12.4 Monterey beta is currently available for download for developers; it will be made available to the general public later today via Apple’s public beta programme.

With an A13 processor, a 12-megapixel sensor, and an f/2.4 lens, the camera configuration on the Studio Display was nearly identical to the iPhone 11’s. However, the display’s image quality was curiously unjustifiable considering the display’s pricing. There are certain drawbacks to installing a beta version macOS in order to repair the camera, but not something many people would want on their work computers. If Apple wanted to test these modifications in a variety of settings before making them available to the general public, it’s natural that they would do so.
You may update your display by navigating to System Preferences > Software Update after installing the development or public beta. Your display should look better after installing the latest Studio Display Firmware Version 15.5 (Build 19F5062g).
